Not really – her recommendation is to keep it to yourself until the emotions are settled and taken out of the equation! So to ensure you do not dispose of your money too quickly and often unprepared.

Sometimes situations do not allow us any time to make the right decisions – the worst time to be making decisions is when grief is involved (e.g. death in the family, made redundant, insurance compensation, divorce) Janne is a strong advocate to “park it in the bank” until you are at a stage to make well informed decisions.

 

Take the time to ensure you have a great Financial Planner, Accountant and Solicitor – a professional team to ensure you can seek the right advice and make good financial decisions and helps you do what you want to do with your money! Choose your team (from experience, expertise, and referrals) as there is a high level of trust involved, reduce the risk by choosing your team wisely – to review, set strategic goals – set goals and check points to ensure you are on track.
