At daybreak, over the views of Long Reef we were given a remarkable boost with not only an amazing view, also a small glimpse of an incredible self determined woman who has made a massive difference in the lives of many young girls with the potential to achieve greatness in their lives.
Self described with a rebellious side – having a tenacious character, adding a positive attitude and ‘nothing is going to stop me’ spirit has allowed Layne Beachley to accomplish immeasurably more than she could ever imagine.
In a male dominated household and world, with a tenacious spirit to stand up for herself – harassment and intimidation did not deter this elite athlete. Self preservation, we heard Layne confess isolation and withdrawal was her protection mode for her way to deal with life.
This background of having to do it tough – it was Layne’s deep look within and search for what drives her to succeed in life, clearly it is her remarkable attitude that makes Layne unique. Evidently, Layne built confidence, determination and strength resulting in making her own goals clear and become the best in the world.
Venturing from an elite athlete to business woman - Layne keeps herself busy as a Director, Ambassador, Writer, and her foundation Reach for the Stars, her own clothing range are just to name a few of the on going activities that Layne keeps herself motivated and challenged … just to name a few.
Layne aptly stating “Clarity is power: the clearer you are – the more powerful you are going to be”.
