Marketing is not for amateurs!

Were we at the wrong meeting?

We’d come along to hear the tips for marketing our small businesses and yet we were clearly told to use professional help.

Trying to be all things in our businesses meant that we were wasting time and money in marketing without understanding the medium.

The June 2006 Inspiring Women breakfast was a no punches pulled talk on different types of media from someone who comes from the marketing sector of newspapers and media.

Simone Preston gave us honest examples of the do’s and don’ts in using media for marketing your business from print to radio to using the web to promote your business. She gave real ideas and suggestions on what works and what doesn’t and to view your business from the media’s perspective.

 

Members and visitors commented alike in that Simone’s presentation gave them valuable tips and spoke in REAL terms.

As we pay for an accountant to do our financials why do we try to do our own marketing when a professional can do it properly the 1st time with their expertise?

 

Luckily we had marketing and PR people attending for those of us who needed their help fast!

Our thanks goes to Simone who braved the chilly winter morning by getting up at 4.30am to come down from the Central Coast to inspire us with her words of wisdom.
